Many buyers focus only on unit price when sourcing custom coffee distributors, ignoring hidden manufacturing risks. Seemingly‑low‑cost products may bring high after‑sales return rate, bad brand reputation and delayed project schedule. We summarize several typical traps in coffee hardware custom CNC projects to help purchasers avoid unnecessary losses.

Trap 1: Ignore food‑contact‑grade surface‑treatment requirement

Coffee Tamper

Some suppliers use ordinary anodizing for aluminum coffee distributors to cut cost. Under long‑time contact with coffee acid substance, surface film layer may wear off. For coffee‑use hardware, you must explicitly propose food‑grade surface‑treatment standard in technical specification, and confirm capability with your CNC manufacturer.

Trap 2:Confuse decorative appearance tolerance with functional working‑surface tolerance

Many buyers only check outer appearance dimension, but neglect flatness requirement of powder‑contact working face. Beautiful outer shell cannot compensate uneven working surface. Even perfect‑looking goods will cause terrible espresso extraction effect. Functional surface tolerance must be marked clearly on 2D drawing.

Trap3:Prototype performance cannot be copied in mass‑production

Single‑piece prototype can achieve excellent quality by manual fine‑tuning. Many small workshops do not possess dedicated mass‑production fixture. When quantity goes up, flatness and parallelism drop sharply. Before placing large order, ask factory for small‑batch trial production for verification.

Trap4:Underestimate lead‑time of surface‑treatment procedure

CNC machining time is short, but hard anodizing, bead blasting, brushing will occupy considerable production cycle. Some factories only quote CNC‑processing lead‑time, excluding post‑surface‑treatment, resulting in unexpected delivery delay. Confirm full‑cycle lead‑time including all post‑processing steps.
